KATY WHITE, MBA, Certified Tutor

ACADEMIC BACKGROUND. Katy’s academic background includes graduating fifth in her class
from Reagan County High School in Big Lake, Texas. After high school, Katy attended McMurry University on the Presidential Scholarship (requirements of 3.8 high school GPA, minimum 26 ACT and 1200 SAT score). She later graduated cum laude from McMurry University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree and received her master’s degree from the University of Texas at Arlington (Master of Business Administration).

PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND. Katy had her first taste of working in sports while completing her master’s degree. After two successful seasons with the Texas Rangers and the Cotton Bowl Classic, she went on to hold the Assistant General Manager position with the Grand Prairie AirHogs and Director level positions with the Fort Worth Cats and Oklahoma City Dodgers (Los Angeles Dodgers, Triple A). While with the OKC Dodgers, she implemented a STEM-focused program for 15,000+ third- and fourth-grade students across the Oklahoma City metro area (Dodgers MVP Program). After twelve years of working in professional sports, she made the decision to return home to Texas and assist in managing Elite 5 Tool Fit and Dallas Tigers Central.

An opportunity was realized when Katy was assisting the CEO’s daughter with schoolwork after her softball lesson at the facility. Understanding the importance of academics while working towards athletic goals, she decided to pursue certification to tutor students. Katy was most recently certified as a tutor by the National Tutoring Association where she completed various training sessions and underwent testing to satisfy the necessary requirements.

Katy is available for small group tutoring (study hall), one-on-one homework assistance and one-on-one test preparation. Her focus is on elementary and middle school math, science and English, but can provide assistance in other subjects.

Further certifications are currently in process.

Study Hall. An opportunity to complete homework or study for a test with the assistance of a certified tutor. Study hall is limited to 4 students at one time. Perfect for facility members to attend prior to training!

One-on-One Homework. One-on-one assistance from a certified tutor with total focus on completing and understanding homework assignments. 30-minute and 60-minutes sessions available.

One-on-One Test Preparation. One-on-one assistance from a certified tutor in test preparation. Study skills suggestions and repetition for understanding and remembering information and fully preparing for tests. 30-minute and 60-minute sessions available.
